 Ultra-high purity RO (reverse osmosis) drinking water system – fully automatic. Made with the best parts we have found. This unit knows when to turn itself “ON” (and make more water) and when to turn itself “OFF” (when the storage tank is full). All YOU do is draw your pure water from its attractive, dedicated faucet. Recommended maintenance interval is once a year. It is a four stage system:
1. Granular activated carbon (GAC) filter to absorb heavy chlorine and chlorine byproducts such as chloramines, THM and TCE. (Replace every 12 months)
2. Carbon filter to remove any additional chlorine or organic matter from water (Replace or rotate every 12 months)
3. High rejection (95-99%) Thin Film Composite (TFC) RO membrane to reject wide spectrum of impurities including Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), heavy metals, chemicals, pesticides, herbicides, arsenic, fluoride, bacteria, and viruses down to 0.0001 micron. The product water is stored in the storage tank, while the reject water is automatically flushed down the drain. (replace when TDS meter shows rejection rate of lower than 85%; usually lasts 5-10 years, depending on gallons per day consumed and quality of feed water)
4. Post carbon polishing GAC filter to remove dissolved gases and improve taste. (Replace every 12 months)
